This week I read the non-fiction book Tracks written by Robyn Davidson. The book is a first hand account of when she took the journey of walking across the Australian desert. It was a 1,700 mile long walk where she only had a dog and four camels. She faces all of the challenges that come with the desert and then some. It was a really inspiring book where I really got to know the character, who was such a strong person. Overall I really enjoyed this book and I feel like so would many others.'

Glory Be is not a great book but not a bad book. It is about a girl named Glory who lives in Mississippi during 1964. The town she lives in is starting to integrate and she is learning how hard it is for some people to except others. Glory has to learn to be her own person because he best friend and her sister change during the summer and they separate.

The Canning Season
by Polly Horvath
This book is about a girl named Ratchet who lived in a basement with her mom who cares more about looking good around people than her daughter. One day, out of the blue, her mother tells her that she is going to stay with her great aunts and sends her there without any clothes or belongings at all. I liked this book because it was very originaland had interesting characters.

Sold
by Patricia McCormick
This book is about a 13 year old girl named Lakshmi. Her family was happy until their crops were washed away and her father said she needed to get a job to help support her family. This job ends up being prostitution. I didn't love this book, but it was pretty good. It was a very original story and had very interesting characters.
